Is paintball safe for children and beginners?

Absolutely. Safety is the highest priority at Epic Paintball Events. We maintain a 100% safety record through our professional approach to protective gear and expert marshalling.

  • Premium Safety Gear: All players receive full-head goggle systems with ear protection and custom-designed body armour as standard to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
  • Expert Marshalling: Our professional marshals supervise every mission, ensuring fair play and the strict enforcement of “no-fire” zones and safety protocols.
  • Beginner Friendly: Most of our players are first-timers! We provide a comprehensive safety briefing to all participants before gameplay begins.

MiniBall (Ages 7–10): Low-Impact Fun
Specifically designed for our youngest recruits, MiniBall allows children to enjoy the action with specialized equipment at all national locations:

  • Softer Hits: High-tech, spring-loaded markers ensure a much lighter impact suited for younger players.
  • Tailored Equipment: Smaller combat suits and lightweight gear designed specifically for children.
  • Unlimited Ammo: MiniBall sessions include unlimited ammunition, so the fun never stops!

Epic Pro-Tip: Safety is a team effort. If you have questions about your child’s first game or want to check availability at your nearest centre, call our booking team on 0203 989 5996.

Can I bring my own paintball marker or equipment to the paintball centre?

While we provide industry-leading equipment, you are welcome to bring certain items of your own gear.
Please note that all personal equipment is subject to the final approval of the Centre Manager on the day to ensure it meets our strict safety standards.

  • Goggles: You may use your own goggles provided they are specifically designed for paintball, feature a full-face mask, and have not been modified. They must be in excellent condition to pass our safety inspection.
  • Paintball Markers (Guns): You may bring your own marker to our national centres only if you have booked a Private Game. The marker must be compatible with our gas bottles and will be subject to a mandatory chronograph test.
  • Gas Cylinders (Strict Policy): We do not allow customers to bring their own gas cylinders to any of our centres under any circumstances. This is a vital safety protocol to ensure the integrity of the equipment on-site.
  • Paintballs: For safety and insurance reasons, we operate a “Site-Only” paint policy. Only paintballs purchased at the centre may be used in our game zones.
  • Armoured Gloves: Many players prefer to bring their own armoured gloves for extra protection, though professional pairs are also available for purchase at our on-site shop.

Contact & Verification
If you have questions about specific gear, please contact our booking office on 0203 989 5996 to verify your equipment before you arrive.

Can I bring my own paintballs?

No. For health, safety, and environmental reasons, only paintballs issued by the paintball centre on the day of your event may be used.

  • Quality & Safety: We ensure our paintballs are fresh and stored correctly so they break on impact. Paintballs taken off-site cannot be brought back and used at a later date, as we cannot verify their storage conditions or safety once they leave our care.

  • Environmental Protection: We use only fully biodegradable paintballs to protect the local woodland ecosystems.

  • Banking Unused Paint: If you have paintballs left over at the end of your session, you don’t have to lose them! You can leave them with the Centre Manager, who will credit the remaining amount to your booking profile for use on your next visit.

Does paintball hurt?

At Epic Paintball Events, your comfort and safety are our highest priorities.
While you may feel a slight “sting” similar to a quick flick of a rubber band, our industry-leading safety gear is specifically designed to minimise impact. To ensure a comfortable experience, we provide all players with:

  • Bespoke Body Armour: Our custom-designed plates protect the torso, significantly reducing the feel of any impact.
  • Full-Body Combat Suits: These thick suits feature integrated padded neck collars for extra protection in sensitive areas.
  • Full-Head Goggle Systems: Our goggles wrap entirely around the head, protecting the ears, temples, and face.
  • Professional Marshalling: Our marshals enforce a strict distance rule, ensuring no one is shot from close range.
  • Armoured Tactical Gloves: Highly recommended to protect your hands and knuckles, these are available for purchase at our on-site shop on the day of your event.

Pro-Tip for Comfort
For maximum comfort, we recommend wearing loose, layered clothing (like gym wear) underneath your combat suit. This adds a natural buffer while allowing you to move freely through game zones.

Is there a weight or height limit for paintball?

At Epic Paintball Events, we believe the adventure should be accessible to as many people as possible.
There are no strict height or weight restrictions, though we do recommend the following for your comfort and safety:

  • Bespoke Equipment: We provide custom-designed body armour and combat suits in a wide range of sizes. Our equipment is adjustable and designed to accommodate various body types comfortably.
  • Mobility & Terrain: Our game zones are located in natural woodland. Players should be able to navigate uneven bushland terrain, slopes, and forest floors reasonably comfortably.
  • Safety First: For your safety, we must be able to ensure that our protective goggles and body armour fit correctly and securely.
  • Ask our Team: If you have specific concerns about sizing or mobility, please call our booking office on 0203 989 5996. Our team is experienced in assisting groups of all sizes and can provide further details on our equipment specifications.

Will my child be playing with adults?

We take great care in how we group our players to ensure a safe and balanced experience for everyone. Whether your children play with adults depends on the game type:

  • Miniball (Ages 7–10): To maintain a safe environment, adults are not permitted to play in these sessions. These games are strictly for children, ensuring they play against others of a similar age, size, and ability.
  • Standard Paintball (Ages 10+): We aim to group players by age where possible. However, you may see mixed-age groups if parents wish to play alongside their children or if there are older siblings in a booking.
  • Professional Supervision: Regardless of the age group, all games are led by professional marshals who remain on the field at all times to enforce safety rules and ensure fair play.
  • Basecamp Tip: While the children are on the field, parents can relax in our basecamp. We recommend bringing a book or personal entertainment to enjoy while you wait.
